Now that we have a greater understanding the 4 primary chakras, we can move on to exploring the Higher chakras.
The Throat, the 3rd Eye and the Crown chakras are considered the Higher chakras not only because they are located on the top half of our body but also because they are our connection to higher vibrations and energies.
Throat Chakra
The Throat chakra is connected to self-expression and communication. While the Sacral chakra ruled creativity, the Throat rules the true expression of your being, your truth. It rules the capacity of speaking and communicating your deepest truth. This expression doesn’t have to be necessarily in spoken words, it can be in any form, from music, to painting, to writing, as long as it’s your own truth.
In this chakra we start asking questions such as – Am I being truthful with myself?
When balanced, you are able of expressing yourself in an authentic way, any deviation actually feels uncomfortable. As the first of the higher chakras, it is also the start of the spiritual connection.
If unbalanced, you may notice an intense fear of being seen or speak to others. You will have the tendency to either not say anything, no matter how much discomfort it can cause you, or say inappropriate comments. Lying is also a characteristic of an unbalanced Throat chakra.
You started transcending your ego’s limitations in the Heart center, paying more attention to how you feel, honoring yourself, but in the Throat, you bring that transcendence into reality. You start owning your wants and needs, in compassion and love for yourself and others. At the same time, you start recognizing that you are not just this person, you are part of something bigger, you are not just a body, you are also a spirit.
3rd Eye
The 3rd Eye chakra is connected to your intuition, insight, and spiritual vision. It rules the transcendence of duality. While in the Throat you realized you are part of something bigger than just your body you can now completely transcend the world. This is where you can transcend from the little “I” to the “One” consciousness, where you can recognize the interconnectedness of absolutely everything.
In this center we ask questions such as – Is this true? Who am I?
When balanced, you can easily connect to your intuition. You will easily perceive other realms of existence and there will be a development of psychic abilities, spiritual wisdom and connection. You can see beyond the illusions of the dual world.
When unbalanced, it can cause a sense of being stuck and unable to move forward. You will feel a lack of clarity and it will be very easy to fall into illusions and fantasies. A blocked 3rd Eye will also bring characteristic of being close minded and unable to accept anything beyond the 3D reality.
When part of a balanced chakra system, the unconditional love from the Heart and the authenticity of the Throat are brought together with a sense of deep inner wisdom and you are able to see your true nature beyond all illusions and misconceptions.
Crown Chakra
The Crown chakra is connected to the Universal Consciousness, the Whole. In this center you go beyond the physical world and recognize yourself as All There Is. This is the chakra where Self-Realization, the total remembering of your True Self occurs. You live in a constant state of bliss, peace and harmony.
There is actually no more need for asking questions, you completely transcend the world. You live in the world but you are not of the world.
When balanced you know that you are not just connected to everything; you are everything and you live life in accordance with this understanding.
If unbalanced, you will feel a disconnection from Spirit and from the world, you just live in your own world inside your head, or it can go the exact opposite way and you may be too attached or co-dependent on spirit.
